What is counselling?

Sometimes we feel so overwhelmed that we don’t know where to start, how to continue, or even where we want to go.

Counselling provides an opportunity to walk with a qualified and caring person on your journey towards hope and healing. 

Is counselling
right for me?

Counselling offers support to those who are experiencing a range of challenges. These may include life transition and adjustments, grief, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, trauma, and childhood-related trauma. Some challenges may require the additional support of other mental health professionals. If you are uncertain about who might be best able to help you, feel free to let us know when you make your first contact with us.

What can I expect?

The basic need for anyone coming to counselling is a sense of being respected. The first priority for the counsellor is to work with you to create a space in which you feel safe to work through those difficulties that bring you to counselling. Your counsellor will use empirically validated methods, integrating these where appropriate, and working with you to meet your goals within the context of your present and changing needs.
